Brazil flagSeveral Lexicon team members attended The Forum for Expatriate Management’s (FEM) Americas Global Mobility Summit held at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida on September 18th. The Americas Summit included a mixture of in-house senior global mobility professionals as well as industry experts providing inspirational, forward-thinking presentations along with the latest trends and industry developments.

Deborah Wilkes, Global Consulting Services Director for Lexicon, and Bianca Fischer, Global Mobility Consultant to Lexicon for Brazil and the Latin America region, represented Lexicon with a presentation for approximately 50 attendees titled Brazil: Successfully Navigating the Challenges.

Lexicon’s presentation highlighted the many factors that can complicate assignments in Brazil. Deborah and Bianca covered the perspectives of both HR professional and assignees, discussing challenges such as cost, labor laws, bureaucracy and of course cultural differences. The presentation continued with an overview of the many changing regulations in Brazil, from tax to immigration to compensation compliance. Finally, they presented on key drivers for global mobility to the area: demographic, economic, infrastructure and geopolitical. Lexicon’s full presentation can be downloaded and viewed at the FEM website at http://totallyexpat.com/americas-summit-2014/presentations/

Thank you to everyone who represented Lexicon at the event and to those who attended the presentation! Lexicon was pleased to have the opportunity to share our expertise with this distinguished group.
