Lexicon representatives attended the 13th Worldwide ERC Asia Pacific Global Workforce Summit, which was held in Shanghai March 26-27th at the Shangri La hotel in Pudong.
The meeting is the only multi-day conference exclusively focusing on global mobility in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and once again it drew several hundred attendees from across the region.
The keynote address was given by Chin Teik Cheah, former head of Intel’s global mobility program in Asia and a recognized leader in executive coaching and global workforce consulting.
Chin Teik shared his ideas on “Execute to Greatness: Master the Five Leadership Practices Anytime, Everytime."
The 5 Leadership Practices included:
• Begin with a measurable end-in-mind
• Use 20/80 rule for focused impact
• Create a rhythm of accountability
• Invest in talent management system
• Communicate to align and focus
The Summit program offered a wide variety of educational sessions with options including deep dives on immigration; localplus and localization policies; tracking and compliance for business travelers; project-based assignments; and aligning talent mobility with talent management.
As in all past APAC summits, the overwhelming majority of speakers were drawn exclusively from corporate HR with the exception of the ‘technical’ and specialist sessions such as immigration where BAL and Fragomen contributed insights. Speakers from the corporate HR included representatives from J&J, BP, GE, Microsoft, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Corning, Hasbro, Intercontinental Hotel Group and Black & Veatch.
